Thai kick-boxing is an ancient martial art. Unarmed fighting is done by the use of body parts such as fists, elbows and knees as weapons. Tactic, wit and right timing are necessary in this art which makes use of 30 gestures that must be carefully studied. Aside from this, it is also a must to learn the 10 gestures involved in the performance of a ritual done in honour of the mentors. Thai classical music is played in the background using native instruments such as flute, drum and cymbals. The sound recorded here is from the first Thai kick-boxing training school, the only one of its kind in the world. It was founded under the resolutions of the International Thai Kick-Boxing Council of 78 countries in the province of Pathumthani. The school is governed by the Ministry of Education. It welcomes Thai and foreign students alike.
