Is there a way to turn off the artist effects?

I like the square snowflakes, but I don't want the circles in the bottom left corner.

Also I thought the viewer was auto resizable? I placed some images in the images folder but they did not resize when I viewed on the index.html page. Images were 900H with various widths. Only a portion of the image appears.
